History of surfboards
In the previous post, I introduced you to the first part of surfboard history. The first surfboard was made more than 300 years ago in Hawaii. Surfing wasn’t used in a recreational way like it is today, but instead it was used by Village Chiefs to make important decisions and practice religion.
Duke Kanahamoku, a native Hawaiian was the first person to introduce surfing as a sport. I am grateful for him! In 1926, Tom Blake was the first person to design and make a hollow surfboard. The average weight of the first surfboards made were about 50 pounds. As a result they were wicked fast. These surfboards made from redwood were so popular that until 1930, they were mass produced and used by millions of surfers around the world. A few years later surfboards were being produced using various wood materials. The average weight of the new type of surfboard was about 30 pounds.
Low weight and fast speed are the two most desirable things when making
surfboards. A big leap in achieving these two components was incorporating fiberglass and polyurethane. These materials allowed surfers to have better control of the surfboard.
Making a big decision in the near future? Take on the role of a Village Chief and let the a wave guide you in the right direction. If you have any information related to this post please share the surfboard love.

Surfing has become so popular around the world. It is one of the most favorite water sports on earth. However, not so many people know or care about the history or the origin of this game, especially the equipment of surfing of surfboard. Of course, we can not surf without surfboards. Therefore, in the post today I will give you brief history of surfing and surfboards with the aim that the more we understand about them, the more we love the game.
I am sure that so many people, especially surfing lovers all know that surfing originated from Hawaii. Furthermore, it was invented in 17th century. You will think that Hawaiians were so sportive. However, not so many know the fact that at that time surfing was not created as a sport to play. It was in fact a production of spirituality and religion. It was not a recreational game at all. Hawaiians at that time thought that gods had brought waves to them and through waves gods made decisions. As a result, people there invented surfing as a way to address problems or resolve conflicts among people. That is the true reason for the creation of surfing that we all play now.
The Hawaiians also created surfboards at that time to serve for their spiritual purposes. And the first surfboards were made from a kind of wood called solid red wood. Interestingly, those surfboards had quite same shapes as the modern ones. However, they were totally different in length and weigh. Because they ranged from 10 to 14 feet in size and 50 to 100 pounds in weigh. Actually, they were so heavy. I have wondered how those surfboards could afloat on water. One interesting reason to explain for that big size is the power. The chiefs of the islands would have the biggest boards as their powers. As a result, beside size and length, the materials to make those surfboards were also different due to classes. There are two types of redwood. One is Alaia and one is Olo. Olo was used by the rich and powerful people while that Alaia was used by the poor. These things once again showed us that the game of surfing at that time was not created to play as a recreational game but it was for religious reasons. Therefore, the materials that made up those surfboards can show us the status of one person in villages on the island. Fortunately, toady these surfboards are still kept and displayed in Honolulu.
That is the first part of a long history of surfboards I have shared to you today. I will continue this topic in the next few posts.

New places for surfing
Hello everyone there! My name is Dan Damon coming from Hawaii, the heaven of surfing. The first time I surfed was 15 years ago when I was a small child. During those 15 years, I have come and surfed to many different beaches of the world. To me, Hawaii is my hometown, it also the best place for me to surf. However, surfing as all of know is not only about competition, about sport, but it is also about relaxation entertainment and fun. Therefore, finding and coming to other beaches and surf there bring me a lot of different sensations and experiences. It is not the place we surf, it also the place we feel. With that sense, in this series of posts, I would like to tell you my own experiences about the surfing spots I have come to to make you know more about them. And in this first post, I will bring you to the place of Nha Trang of Vietnam, a wonderful place to surf and travel.
Nha Trang is a small town in Vietnam. It is located in the south coastal part of the country. It borders with the beautiful sea of South china Sea. In 2009, World Sea Organization honorably awarded it as one of the most twenty-nine beautiful bays of the world. In terms of climate, the town is very favorable for surfers as well as tourists as a whole. It is quite hot all the time of the year with average temperature of 29 degrees. The average time of sunshine is 1000 hours. It is so great for surfers, isn’t it?
In terms of geology, Nha Trang is a bay city. Therefore, wind and wave there are not so strong and big. However, with my own experiences, this kind of wind and wave are not at a perfect level but at the good level. I think it is great enough for us, isn’t it? One more important fact that I love this place is that there are not so many people surfing there. Therefore, if you like a spacious and tranquil place to surf, Nha Trang is a great option. However, the city has many relating surfing services like paddleboard for hire, surfing classes. It is totally quieter than big hubs like Hawaii, but it can equip perfectly all the things you need to surf. Every year, the town launches a surfing competition for both amateur and professional surfers with the prize for winners up to 200,000 US dollars. I was very lucky to be the winner in 2010. Therefore, I love this place more.
Words are not enough to depict about this amazing place. Come there and feel my feeling, you will find this place is one of the best places on earth.

Things new surfers should know
To many new surfers, surfing is usually considered as an easy game that unlike many other sports like football, hockey or rugby, it is just all about a stand up paddle board and white waves. They think there is no need of muscles, fighting or something that aggressive in other physical activities or sports. However, it may be wrong if you think about surfing like that. There are no real opponents like in soccer, rugby or hockey, but there are many big and obvious things you must fight against when surfing like white waves, strong wind or foam balls, which hit you hard all the time you surf. Fighting, balancing and falling are always evitable part of surfing game.
The first and most important thing in surfing is to keep your balance. It is not the solid ground that you are stepping on, it is the ocean with constant waves. As a result, falling is the most difficult challenge that a new surfer must familiarize and overcome if he or she wants to surf. However, the fact here is that for true nobody neither new surfers nor professional ones can be able to stand on a stand up paddle board forever, you will fall for sometime. The important thing here is the possible duration of time that you can be capable of. And certainly, all of us wish to keep balance as long as possible. That is also the big matter of new surfers. Therefore, try and practice to keep balance as long as possible is the issue of those people. In order to achieve that, you need to conquer your fears when standing on the board, believe that you can do that then you will succeed for some day. The good news is that there are many good exercises for you to keep balance and proceed other surfing acts at the same time.
One important element in keeping balance in surfing is speed. For example, when you are riding a bike, it is harder for you keep balance when riding slowly, and it is obvious much easier to ride without falling when we accelerate the speed of the bike. It is also true to surfing. If you want to surf better and stay on the waves longer, you need to push up your speed of surfing gradually. Having saying that, however in order to increase your speed is also a big challenge because it depends so much on natural factors of wind speed, waves and your skills and experiences. Therefore, the only thing you can do to improve your speed is to practice harder and harder day-by-day.
Those are first important factors that a new surfer should consider when surfing. Overcoming of those things, you have put one stable leg on the paddleboard.

However, you should know practicing pop ups on the ground is much more easier than doing the real thing when you surf at the sea because the sea is always moving and moving non stop.

In other words, these unwritten rules are in fact the experiences and practical things that surfers have passed by in order to compile them in a set of rules. The first unwritten rule is that the closer to the curl, the better you are. Therefore, it is very important for you to look everything carefully before making a jump. There are many reported cases that many surfers have fought for a wave that sometimes can cause a lot of troubles. This especially usually happens to new surfers who are lack of experiences. Good tips for new surfers
Do you bear in mind the beneficial things for new surfers that I mentioned in the last post? If you do not, then now I would certainly like to remind you that in the last post I claimed about the significance of having an excellent surfboard and wetsuit; and selecting a properly area to . I hope that they serve info for you. Now in this post today, I want to proceed my subject concerning some great and helpful pointers for new web surfers. The things I want to discuss today is choosing a right day to surf, and expertise about slit currents.
The initial crucial factor is the day itself. Naturally, each day is various from each other. On Monday it is so clear, water is so terrific, but on Tuesday it may be that the sky is cloudy or even stormy. Moreover, in the modern-day times today, it is very rare to have even a day off. As a result, when we have a day off, it may coincide with a bad weather condition day that stops us from going to the coastline and . As such, it is smart to select a day with favorable conditions for surfing when wind is not to strong, waves are not to large. Yet another explanation put for that is that you are brand-new web surfers whose understanding and abilities are insufficient to in such a bad weather condition. If you try, you will certainly discover nothing, prevent your status, and more crucial will exhaust you terribly. Consequently, inspect very carefully for the weather condition along with split existing disorders prior to .
The second basic point that brand-new surfer must know is the split ebb and flow. Exactly what is rip current. It is solid however fairly small present of waves that originating from coast back to the ocean. It is various from typical waves in the reality that typical waves arise from the sea to the shore, however rip ones reversely arise from the coast to the sea. It is really exhausted and hard to surf versus the slit existing since it will take you a lot more energy than surfing along the tide and waves. And it is particular that surfing analogue with the waves will enable you to surf much better and faster, and less worn down. In recap, you ought to remember that not to fight versus the ocean due to the fact that it is far more powerful than all of us. And listed here are two crucial indications of split currents that may help you to be more equipped and tranquil to with it: slit ebb and flows often occur in deep water and greener water in colours in compared to the various other waters surrounding.

Mistakes in surfing
It is very common mistakes that many surfers including both professionals and amateurs have so much focus on building muscles and bodybuilding techniques rather than emphasize a greater deal on surfing skills itself. This is because the fact that many of them think that if they have a strong body, they can surf better. It is undeniable that if you have a strong body, that is so great. Therefore, strengthening your body in gym is very important. However, you should bear in mind a fundamental fact about surfing is that it is all about skills of fast and dynamic actions and movements. It means surfing skills that aim at strengthening your speed of movements on water is much more important than bodybuilding. In addition, looking at surfers we can easily find out that they have very strong bodies with strong backs, knees, and shoulders that are brought about by surfing. Therefore, there is no need to focus so much in gym to have a strong body. Surfing can bring that for you without so much pushing up or down with sweats in gym. Surfing and swimming naturally help you to have a strong body, develop your arms, legs and shoulders.
Furthermore, it is very obvious that in surfing, surfers will you many different types of other sports in order to build your muscles like yoga, boxing, running. It is because when we are surfing, all of parts of our body under the pressure of body weigh will increase our muscles and flexibility of those muscles.
The second big mistake is the imbalance in the surfing locations. Many surfers surf at the same locations with the same ways that they used to. It means that we should try out as much different surfing spots as possible. There are many types of surfing places like shallow or deep waters, mild or strong wind and waves, which require long or short board. As a result, it is better to play and surf differently every time. In addition, adding surfing skills, body training and surfing spots are very important.
In summary, the things I want to say in this short post are that surfing is a dynamic and skill required sport. It is wise for you to focus more to skills in movements rather than physical strength of your body to get much more progress and improvement and become true surfers to pass all of the difficulties and hardship of this wonderful game.
